I have only just seen the league table and it looks a bit dicey at the bottom.

Coca-Cola Football League One Table
24 January 2009 17:02
P GD PTS
1 Leicester 26 31 60
2 MK Dons 26 24 51

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3 Oldham 27 13 48
4 Peterborough 26 14 47
5 Scunthorpe 26 13 47
6 Millwall 24 8 47

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7 Leeds 26 10 42
8 Stockport 26 10 41
9 Tranmere 25 6 40
10 Huddersfield 27 -3 40
11 Colchester 26 1 36
12 Northampton 26 3 33
13 Walsall 25 -2 32
14 Hartlepool 25 -3 32
15 Carlisle 26 -7 31
16 Southend 26 -11 31
17 Bristol Rovers 25 3 30
18 Yeovil 26 -13 27
19 Swindon 25 -9 24
20 Brighton 25 -9 24

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

21 Leyton Orient 27 -16 23
22 Hereford 25 -14 21
23 Cheltenham 25 -25 21
24 Crewe 25 -24 19

With hereford starting to put a run together, we are certainly getting into "must win game" territory

Not really 1 win, if Swindon and Yeovil lose will take us up 2 places and we can then start gradually clawing our way up the table.

I admire your optimism for a side that has only won 5 games all season

We would have to win big, and/or have yeovil lose big, or else we need a win and a draw and them to have two losses, or us to have two wins and they can draw a couple etc. they have a better goal difference.

Yeovil goal difference is -13 ours is -9 so a 1 -0 win for us and 1 - 0 defeat for them would mean their difference -14, ours -8 ( 6 better) what is the problem, where is this big win or defeat needed.

Think it's incredible we are not in the bottom 4 the run we've been on. Juat goes to show how shit you need to be to occupy those places. Leicester is a bonus game. Would say Saturday v Hartleppol is a must win though. Our goal difference is ok which could be our saviour come May. We just need to put a mini run together........I know I know

Oops, my bad. Earlier I was looking at the table from last year after we'd played 25 games to see where our current points would've had us (21st) but when I looked we were losing so would have had the same points as 22nd spot and Luton had -2 for their goal difference and I was remembering that goal difference instead of Yeovil's.

Incidentally, if we had the 35 points we had after 25 games last year, we'd be in 12th place, same as last year. Not that it means anything, I was just curious.

Bollox - I don't believe a word of this! Does anybody else?

As long as we win half of our remaining games we should be ok - 9 or 10 wins needed and I've got a feeling we're going to fluke a first win in ages on Tuesday.

The table doesn't matter at all at the moment - and discussing league position now based on goal difference is pointless beyond belief. The important thing is we get to the 50 point target to (hopefully) ensure safety. It would be nice to think that we could do that before the last few games as entering the end of the season still with a chance of going down becomes a bit of a lottery.
