Clubs like Portsmouth and West Ham totally lost it financially but when you stand to be paid £88million for just appearing for one season in the Prem there's plenty of middle ground in order to assemble a reasonable squad on reasonable money without bankrupting the club.

West Brom manage it, Wolves manage it.

I wonder how much Oyston has invested, how quickly he'll want to get his money out and how much he'll make out of Blackpool's unexpected success.

Whats going on with their Latvian president Belikon? He's certainly got lots ofmoney but he's keeping very quiet this year...could he be in the background engineering a takeover? (only has 20% shares I believe)

In that case the 21st century could be the period English football was "internationalised", as last century English industry was nationalised.

We already had the Thai President or whatever buying up Man City, then selling it.

Before that Libya's Gaddafi in 2004 said he wanted to buy up Palace....
