Last week the cursed "dustbin" units (313's technically) managed to bring the Seaford branch to a halt by, as a guard described to me "Knocking out the pots" close to Southerham Junction outside Lewes.

This means that they actually deflected enough to dislodge the white porcelain safety tubes which hold up the conductor rails.

You would have thought after 40 years in service they would have got the spacing right...
