Remember Gus saying he wont bring players in that are not better than what he has. Is Paynter really better than Barnes or Hoskins? And don't say he is a different type of player. I only want to see one type of player. Someone that f***ing does something!

Thats why leeds want rid

He's not a bad player!. At the moment he's not fitting into our style of play and formation.it will go one of two two ways (1)he will learn how we play and grow to our style or (2)he will be off up the road home to leeds at the end of his loan.

I think everyone is missing the point. What is Paynter's game?....He is a big, put yourself about, hold the ball up, win flick on's, old fashioned centre forward. Here's the point,,,WE DON'T GET THE f***ing BALL OUT OF OUR OWN HALF!!!!!!

Central midfield is the problem to light weight and will get owned by the majority of championship sides.

Until that is put right it does'nt realy matter who's up top.

I just want one that puts the ball in the net. CMS does enough running for everyone. But he is not quite in the right place at the right time at the mo.
Being in the right place at the right time is one of his great strengths from what I've seen. It's just that we're not creating anything so there is no right place or right time for any striker in our team at the moment.

No better than Mark Farrington . Can't hold the ball up to bring midfield into Play. No shots on target in 3 games and can't win or challenge for headers , barnes much be gutted sitting watching on the bench

Just goes to prove how f***ing awful barnes is at this level.

Paynter was woeful yesterday. People can say he's not fit, missed pre season etc but that doesn't account for the 3 or 4 times yesterday where he misplaced a 10 yard pass under no pressure at all.
Forget about not having the pace to frighten defenders, he hasn't even got the pace to get in a position to pick up the ball and keep it.

Yes he's only had 3 games and might improve, but it's looking like a real long shot at the moment

It the correct answer.

Too many on here wrote him off before he even kicked a ball for us, without ever really seeing him play much. If you looked at CMS lately, what does he do other than have an expectional work rate. Not a lot! You can't slag of the strikers due to the way we are playing at the moment. When we are at full strength, then pass comment on strikers, but don't give them anything to work with, then you can't really pass comment on them.

If Gus would have actually liked Murray, one of our best players from the Withdean era, then we wouldn't be having this debate.

Agreed. Every manager drops a clanger now and again, and letting Murray join Palace for the sake of an extra two grand a week was Gus' biggest error.
