Vanilla Ice was a Christmas nubmer one?
Not at all.. it was Cliff Richard Saviour's Day...

I have a feeling Shakey wasn't #1 at Chrsitmas either.. it was the week after.. Whitney Houston was #1 the week before.

I might be wrong...though i doubt it! :drink:

I also have a feeling that Bob The Builder's CHRISTNAS #1 was Mambo#5, and Can We Fix It came out earlier.. might be wrong about that one though!

And... Band Aid II were number one in 1989 not Band Aid... rant over..

Personally I like the poll though...!

Slade and Wizzard are the only Xmas songs that are marginally better than that shite, so I'm not voting unless you chnage the poll to cover however many eons it was since those two were released.

Bollox to xmas anyway, stressfull, busy, overhyped, expensive load of tosh - Bah Humbug :p

It depends whether you take the Christmas number 1 to be the song at number one on the day, or the Sunday following Christmas when the chart is compiled.

If you take it as Christmas Day then Vanilla Ice was indeed number 1 in 1990. Whitney Houston beat Shakin' Stevens to the top spot in 1985, whilst The Housemartins were number 1 with Caravan Of Love in 1986.

According to the Bible (Guiness British Hit Singles).. the Xmas number 1 is the song sitting at number 1 on the sunday prior to Christmas.... the otyher charts are not recognised as official charts and haven't been since 1963.. hence the debate about what was officially the Beatles first #1.
