I'm very partial to this

I first had it in the Algarve and it sells for about 75p a bottle round here.

WOAH there, Sagres is for lasses and queers!!! It's all about the Bock...

That said, the dark beer that Sagres do is VERY nice indeed

Leffe is a superb beer, can't imagine drinking pints of it though, think it would have a far worse effect than wife-beater. Probably why the Belgians generally drink smaller glasses of the stuff...out of respect.

Right, pedantic rant time. Leffe Blonde is NOT a lager, OK? It's bog all to do with the colour of the beer.

Lagers are bottom fermented beers (fermented at a cooler temperature, the yeast sinks to the bottom, longer process, but more homogeneous result, less skill required, etc etc)

Leffe is a top fermented beer, a.k.a ALE (fermentation at higher temperatures, yeast floats, more artisanal skill involved by the brew master, more varied and arguably nicer results, blah blah blah)

How times have changed when I was younger you couldn't get lager in Yorkshire.

As to your choice of lager

Becks - very average german beer
Bud - I would clean my toilet with this stuff!
Staropramen - very good in Prague not so good in this country
Leffe - if served correctly very good but you wont last the night on it.

General british "lager" is a poor clone of the original except bud that will always be shite.

I drank four pints of Leffe Blonde down The Zap one night and was wankered.

Def best to do as the Belgians and use smaller glasses. I like Belgium
