Best KEEPER of the 80's

Who was your favourite NUMBER 1 in that decade?

For me it has to be super Johnny KEELEY, absolutely amazing saves, and stark raving mad as well. Sold him to Oldham for £250k and his career nosedived after injury, burglary and a series of other disasters.

I only ever saw Keely play in the 80's, but as for ANY keeper in the 80s, this was the only one Acceptable

Did Groucho (Eric Steele) actually play for us in the 80's? I thought his "tiff" with Gary Williams at Old Trafford was in late 1979 and he never played again after that.

I did wonder about that. Assumed the list was correct though. In which case for me, no debate - Graham Moseley was the best and my favourite keeper of the 80s.

All round I go for Moseley, keeley's shot stopping was amazing, as was Eric's.

I used to blow hot and cold about Digweed, as indeed did he.

Corrigan was by far the best keeper, though at Man City!

Only ever saw Keeley and Digweed. Keeley wins that contest HANDS DOWN. A great keeper and one of my all time five favourite albion players. Digweed was inconsistent, although he was excellent in the play off season.

We were promoted only once in the eighties (1987/88). Keeley was our keeper that season. So he gets my vote.
