50 to choose from.. one vote...

will it be the suculent meanderings of Jimi Page or the soul wrenching pulse of the Floyd... ahh the agnst!

For me its between Python Lee Jackson (Rod Stewart), In A Broken Dream, (just compliments the song superbly) or Comfortably numb.
Sorry, but how can you mention those two tracks in the same breath? It's a wind up..

Ooh, are we having a Kinks singalong? OK:

"You can see all the stars
As you walk down Hollywood Boulevard
Some that you recognise
Some that you've hardly even heard of..."

No I was just telling you about my seduction last night. Any resemblance to Kinks lyrics was purely coincidental!

John Squires at the end of the full length version of the The Stone Roses' I Am the Resurrection for me. Suspect this will not be a popular choice :flameboun

Far too weighted in the hard rock camp. Johnny Marr's guitar solo in "Paint a vulgar picture" is a brilliant, underrated solo. Otherwise, Hendrix is surely hard to beat.

I mentioned it today unprompted on another thread: Kid Charlemagne by Steely Dan, solo by the esteemed Larry Carlton. Best EVER.

I voted Chuck Berry. Without him, the others wouldn't EXIST.

I'm with Harvs on this fella.
