Best Bond along with Pierce Brosnan

Re Poll.

Its a toss up between A View To A Kill, and Octopussy and If pushed I'll go for Octopussy.

Anyone who's been to Udapiur in India will have seen Octopussy every night of their stay as it is shown in every hotel and cafe nightly. It was partly filmed here and the locals are very proud of this

Every actor to fill the role has made at least one belter as 007..
For me it's:

Connery: Goldfinger / From Russia With Love
Moore: L&LD / Golden Gun
Lazenby:.erm.... OHMSS
Dalton: Living Daylights
Brosnan: World Is Not Enough

Spy Who Loved Me: XXX was highly XXXXable; great fight scenes; ships that eat submarines; cars turning into submarines; Jaws; Stromberg's underwater palace; the pyramids; the lot. But mainly because of XXX.

I'll go for the one where he defeats the bad guy against all the odds, saves the world from certain disaster/annihilation and cops off with the girl as well.

Hard choice, as he's the worst Bond by a country mile, but I'd probably go for The Spy Who Loved Me, as it at least has a semblance of espionage amidst the corny gags a whackey characters.
No - the worst was George Lazenby. Timothy Dalton wasn't much cop either. In fact anyone other than Sean Connery was second best at the most

Not only is TSWLM Moore's best Bond film but it is also Alan Partridge's best ever sketch. Cool.

No - the worst was George Lazenby.

Hard to believe for some people but Lazenby was quite popular at the time and actually CHOSE to quit the role as he didn't think the series would last into the 70's.

He certainly would've been better suited to the role than Roger 'kisses like a fish and doesn't know one end of a walther from the other' Moore.

A couple of things about the casting of Roger Moore. Although considered the quintessential Englishman to fulfil the Bond role, he originally turned down Diamonds Are Forever in 1971 (or rather he had to turn it down - he was contracted to do 'The Persuaders' at the time), as did Timothy Dalton (considered too young at the time), when he eventually took it up, it was because Sean Connery (who didn't want to do any more anyway) was considered too old to do it. So they cast Roger Moore - two years older than Connery.

Also he was considered for Dr No as well...but was contracted to do The Saint.

While on the subject Pierce Brosnan was orginally first choice for the first Dalton but the tv company actually made another series of Remington Steele to stop him taking the role...

Brosnan has since said he felt he would have been too young then anyway.

Fleming originally touted David Niven...
