Mullers got us to the top of the pile; Mike Bailey got us to 7th in the top flight of English Footy. Both = 1st.

I love Mullers,of course I do,but what did he do at the other clubs he went to

He has alot to thank Peter Taylor for,as we all did back then

He may have built some good foundations, but Peter Taylor had two disappointing seasons as Albion manager. The first when Albion almost got relegated to the bottom division as he struggled to get a wholly new team to gel. The second when the side failed to get promoted due to very poor away form and choking at the death.

It took Mullery's motivational powers and his bravery to ditch top scorer Fred Binney in favour of a reserve striker to change Albion into a promotion side.

Certainly. He'd have to get Brighton into the top flight this season and keep them there for the next two campaigns.

I think Taylor and Mullery were both good for each other in terms of their place in history. Without Taylor's side, Mullery may not have got promoted so quickly or at all. Without Mullery to deliver promotion so quickly, Taylor's legacy would have been forgotten.

Winning 1-0 at Wolves in September 1981 got us briefly to 5th place.
