I am amazed that people would even consider dropping him! Please tell me who would replace him? Has Wright Phillips got the kind of class you would like to see in an England side? Beckham had a poor competition, but please dont be so short sighted as to forget that he was our best player (by a country mile) in the qualifying.

He turned the game in Slovakia, scored one of the equalisers against Macedonia, had the bottle to take the penalty at the Stadium of Shite against Turkey, goal in Liechenstein. It is wrong to drop your Captain. Like it or not, Sven like Robson has at least introduced some consistency when it comes to picking the squad and people will argue that it is a closed shop, but it is better than the Taylor / Keegan approach of change it every game. To be honest, other than his treatment of Barry, Sven has not been too bad / wrong when it has come to squad selection.

The same was said about Lineker when he got Hepatitis B. his folliwng season he scored 37 goals in what would be the Premiership and notched another11 goals in 9 games for England

Dont know about everyone else, but it wouldnt be a greatr loss if he was left out of the squad!!

He imho, is now passed his best and we have some great talent in midfield, Lampard first name that springs to mind!

Time for Beckham to Prove himself again and again IMHO this is a do or die season for him!!

Didn't know we'd signed him. But if we have, it must be a toss up between him and David Lee.
