Remember it well. Was it easy to get a ticket?

Barca are still up there! Not so sure about Sampdoria. How are they doing these days?

That was their first European Cup they lifted as well.

Made up for the utter shambles of a final in 86, when they couldn't even score in the penalty shoot-out.

Yep, that was shocking. 2-0 to Steaua, wasn't it?
Poor old El crooked Tel, eh...

Hopefully they'll punch their weight in this year's tournament - would like to see a Chelsea-Barcelona rematch, with the quality of last year's games only with added spice...

Not sure about Sampdoria these days, only really recall they were lucky to hold out to extra-time back in 1992, and mainly due to their most creative-looking player, some bald bloke who later turned up, massively improbably, at Selhurst Park...
Wonders will never cease, eh...

Buzza: was only a callow kid at the time, got tickets through my old man reporting on the game, though suspect it'll be harder to get there when the new Wembley inevitably hosts a Champions League final soon...

In the meantime, am looking forward to the England u-21 play-off at White Hart Lane this Friday for a tenner. Bargain.
But also a fairly shocking contrast to every other league game's pricing policy, from Spurs way down to, well, Weymouth...
