Bands/acts which went downhill after their FIRST album

I am not saying their albums which followed were not good but they were not AS good as the first ones.

Never heard the Libertines but I agree with the other 2 and you can also add "The Levellers" to that list.

I saw the Toy Dolls just last summer. They were pretty good (and yes, they still play Nellie the Elephant). I thought they'd split up 25 years ago, but apparently not.

Any band that takes to the stage to a fanfare of "The Final Countdown" played on kazoos is OK in my books.

fair enough trufflehound. i thought they were great when they first come out. some good lyrics in their songs.

Pains me to say it but i agree with you. I loved the HOly Bible, still do, but have been dissapointed by the rest of the Manic Street Preachers albums, even though i own them all.

First album was a masterpiece, second album was a prog-rock disaster, third album had no songs and the last one was so bad that their record company didn't even release it until after they'd split up (kerr-ching!).
