our away support is fantastic, when you consider location...its a lot easier for northen clubs as not as much travelling involved on average.

Considering the kind of football we played and our eventual position on the ladder it's a massive credit to all those Albion fans who made the journey to those away games throughout the season.

Brilliant stuff by those fans.

How the hell do Doncaster have such a big away support?

Our away support is pretty good but it's certainly dropped a lot in the last few years. Would be brilliant if we could get the attendances back up to early Withdean numbers when we really did have an impressive following.

our away support was bigger then charlton hahhaha

When you consider that we only really have two close games, Millwall and Orient, that shows how good our away support really is.

Don't know, but when you look at all the teams who finished above them in the fans table nearly all of them are within spitting distance of Donny...several would be counted as local derbies, certainly the Sheffields fall into that category.

Even so they are still, I thought, almost a non-league club who have a slowly growing fan base. It's a pretty impressive turn out. I suppose the main reason is that it's the first time they've been in the second tier for ages (or ever?) and therefore numbers will travel to the big grounds (think how many more we took to Leeds the first time we played them post Premiership relegation).

Doncaster were a league club for a long time until 1998, don't forget. Granted, they've been pretty poor on the whole for the last 25 years or so but their attendances now just go to show what a half decent ground and a bit of (relative) success can do.

To have the away following we had last season is nothing short of incredible considering the amount of dross that was served up pre slade,i dont think ive ever seen a more inept display than the one v leeds, though im told carlisle was equally dire, saying this what with the events of last week and the certainty that the stadium funding is now in place,i would expect attendences home and away to improve.of course the more succsessfull we are on the field the more people will attend, but as proved last season the players do respond to our support, bristol rovers away was prob the best testement to that.I cant remember the last time i was so exited about a new season so heres to 2009-10 with a average away attendence over the 1,000 mark.

Donny is also a central hub on the rail network so their fans travelling by train have easy journeys to make. Having a lot of clubs within a hours travelling distance also helps.
