He is one of the most overrated footballers in the Premier league. Just because he's English people keep going really OTT over his ability.

Quite why, after being given a master class by Barcelona, Man Utd have decided that the best player to close the gap is one who specialises in charging down the left wing and either hammering the ball out of play in an attempted cross or cutting in side and slamming the ball over the top into the crowd.

He's one of the "Villa Three" of Bent, Downing and Young who are just hugely overrated (Bent being by far the best of the three in my opinion). Add in former Villa star James milner and you have an extremely underwhelming England team.

Young has the attributes to be a very good player though - maybe some different coaching will do him some good.

No. The media were universal on this move and Young let it be known, many weeks ago.
The formalities were left until after the last England game and his holidays were out of the way.
