And here the nail has been struck firmly on the head.
Well done New labour, how very proud they must be in the Islington salons, this shambles of a government has successfully brought back slave labour to this country after hundreds of years Nice one.Aaagh the joys of champagne socialism.

 Yeah, shitting on low-paid workers all started in 1997, didn't it.

I applaud your dislike of New Labour, however. But their crime is that they didn't fix a situation created by the other shower, not that they created it in the first place.

I believe it is only the people who do the job I do for Sainsbury's, for ASDA that are going on strike. That being Distribution Centres, warehouses in other words.

I work in one of Mr Sainsbury's better paid RDC's but even so I am only on about £11 an hour + shift allowence + bonus :) all in all about £30,000 a year for 2 days and 2 nights 4 on 4 off.

That sounds right - I did a summer's work at Asda Marina many years ago (the tedium of updating the shelving display prices, EPOS or something like that) and don't remember the staff being unionised. And since acquired by viciously anti-union Wal-mart, I guess that situation has not improved.

But I do dimly remember there being a union among the warehousing staff, they had a tighter esprit-de-corps and were less willing to take shit.

My main memories of working at the Marina were that the women were as rough as f*** but a great laugh. They absolutely destroyed dumb college boy here but in a nice way, always getting me to do pointless errands that I'd fall for every time :nono: :lolol:

No wonder civil servants think they're hard done by. You earn about £8k more than me and I'm a manager in the DWP ...                      :shootself :shootself :shootself :shootself :shootself :shootself :shootself :shootself :shootself      :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute:
