why single out one team, Arsenal, when only two clubs there field sides with 50% English players? they may be extreme but the problem lies with every other team too.

as for the english players are too expensive, i dont understand that anymore. why do the clubs keep paying them more? in theory the wages/transfers for a given skill should balance out to a common range, with exceptions only for the very best.

There's no question any club is "ruining" the Premiership because that competition continues to go from strength to strength and be awash with money.

And as for not bringing players through, the likes of Glen Johnson, Matthew Upson, Luke Young, David Bentley and Warnock from Blackburn have all made the England senior squad having been rejected by bigger clubs.

Arsenal's policy of buying foreign has not translated into fans voting with their feet and rejecting the team. It doesn't seem to make much difference to the fans whether you buy British or foreign provided the team wins.

Not them spending, but how they spend.

There's little incentive for them to develop players as that takes time. They can just look around the world, see who are the best players at the time, and buy them.

Can the same thing not be aimed at Man Utd, Liverpool, Spurs, Everton etc?

Newcastle ditched the youth team a few years ago

Get rid of the foreigners, you only have to look at England's fantastic record in U-17, U-19 and similar competitions to realise that once the dagos go, the world is our hamster.

Well it's more prevalent with the Chelsea team because they have such extensive funds. At some stage, most other premiership teams have to develop youth players for reserves etc.

And there were hardly any foreigners in the top league of English football between 1966 and 1993 and what exactly did the national team win?

Wenger has stated he doesn't care about the nationality of the player, just the quality of the player. He has bought English players before, all overpriced and none have worked out (Jeffers for example - £9m). Compared to spending less than that on Fabregas/Vieira/Toure/Adebayor etc and unfortunately his argument adds up: buying English players is a waste of cash. Football clubs are run like a business nowadays of course.

And his reason for English players being overpriced - risk. You know an English player will settle in the country, speak the language, be readily adapted to the style/pace of the game whereas a south american or african player might not.

Football players are in a competitive market. Foreign players are cheaper for a given level of ability. Wenger HAD tight funds when they were at highbury and so bought cheap players. Top work from him I'd say, to become that successful.

After all, if you had the choice of buying two cars, both giving you the same degree of satisfaction, but one was cheaper, which one would you buy?

I wouldnt buy a f**king English car that is for sure.

English players are crap, they add a bit of technically deficient blood and thunder to the Premiership but not much else. And when you stick 11 of the muppets together the shambles is there for all to see.
