At least history is on our side :-

Team with most points having been relegated from League 1 (or Div 2)

'06 Hartlepool 50 pts
'05 Torquay 51 pts
'04 Grimsby 50 pts
'03 Cheltenham 48 pts
'02 Bournemouth 44 pts
'01 Bristol Rovers 51 pts
'00 Cardiff 44 pts
'99 York 50 pts
'98 Brentford 50 pts
'97 Peterboro 47 pts
'96 Carlise 49 pts

If you'd gone back a little further you would've seen that Fulham went down in '94 with 52 pts.

We are NOT safe yet.

On the terraces!!
although we look good we are no f***ing way safe yet.

if we loose both games 2-0 (very likely).....and bradford win both games 2-0 (not very likely but a possibility)....and all the team inbetween us and them pick up points...we are f***ed.

until we pick up another point or bradford dont win i am not 100% at all.:)

Presume it goes to goals scored if we are level on points and GD, what is the next criteria if all still level?

all ifs and buts why don't we just wait and see how we do on saturday and then start worrying if we're not mathmatically safe.

I can see the Chesterfield v Bradford match ending in a draw and them both getting relegated on saturday.

I cant believe it,staying up seems to be an achievment, think about it,no money [AGAIN] so a bunch of kids without the necessary experience in the side to make the team a side to be reckoned with go through another dismal season.
Was avoiding relegation from the league some years ago really worth it?.
My weekends since that time have been blighted over and over again.
We were given a another chance, but we miffed it,sooooooooooooo sad!

That is my view but nothing is certain.

The good point is that Cheaterfield need to win to have any chance of staying up so it wont be easy for Bradford, well not as easy as we made it.

If Chesterfield beat Bradford and Rotherham beat Cheltenham on Saturday, the cheats will be relying on us to beat Cheltenham to have a chance to stay up!!
Now there's a senario I would like to see :lolol: :lolol:

What we want is a Chesterfield win and a Cheltenham win and both Bradford and Chesterfield will then get relegated this Saturday.

A Chesterfield win Saturday and we are safe, or did you want Bradford to go down?
