Yes, as I mentioned on the other thread, I was standing right next to it. I had merely gone down to let Mr McGhee know what I thought of the Irishman's efforts with their equaliser, and to applaud Michel from the dugout, when out of nowhere this steward comes pushing towards me, clearly not too happy. I thought christ, I didn't know you could get done for letting the manager know what you think, but luckily the steward (incidentally a coloured gentleman himself) was after some bloke stood next to me. The steward told him he was arrested, to which the guy asked what for? The steward claimed he had abused Leroy Rosenior by calling him a "black ****." I heard nothing of the sort, and judging by this bloke's (and his friend's) reaction no way did they say anything like that. It's usually pretty easy to tell when people are lying about something like this, and these two weren't IMO. In fact, we were right behind McGhee - some ten or fifteen yards from Brentford's bench. It would have been some shout! Anyway, the steward proceeded to tell the man he was arrested and that he shouldn't expect to be back at Withdean any time shortly. His friend, on his behalf, basically told the steward where to go, and simply refused to be dragged away! So, a small brawl ensued, as I stood and watched, until they all decided some talking might be the way forward. I left at this point, but from what I saw I think the man was allowed to go home. IMHO, a classic case of steward twat-itis.

Well, well done for being honest but no matter what opur opinion of the stewards we have, they have authority over us.

Definitely saw & heard a young chavvie kinda kiddie yell 'black' something or other towards the pitch. Remember thinking at the time that was bang out of order. Obviously stewards thought the same.

I in no way condone anyone calling anyone else a c..t, but how come it's only a problem if the adjective "black" is added? The guy is black therefore if he's a c..t he's a black c..t. If he's white, he's a white c..t.

I have a real problem with this whole racist thing. If I'm in Nigeria and a black guy calls me a white pig I would have the same problem with it as if he just called me a pig. Where does the colour thing make such a big difference?

Am I missing something? I am sure I will be told "yes"!

True, but is it that different to being called a fat / lanky / ugly / Scottish ****? I know it is, but I think that is only because society has made it that way.

BTW I'm not condoning this, I would never call anyone a black ****

Exactly. By adding "black", "white", "gay" or anything else you are suggesting that is the reason they're a ****.

In a way it probably goes back to slavery. Lanky people have hardly been persecuted and denied civil rights - Peter Crouch excepted!

I called Malcolm Stuart a 'fat git' when he faffed about forever instead of coming on to treat what looked like a serious injury to Stokes' shoulder on Saturday. Is that racist? :jester:
