Having seen the video, I shan't be voting for them. I don't agree with everything about the EU, but I don't think leaving the EU will better the UK.
Cheers ,great stuff . how can anyone disagree with that, just what this country needs.
Studying Economics, the general consensus is that free trade is generally greater for all, and I tend to agree. Their main arguments appear to be completely the opposite.
Tell the third world that?
I'm not saying I'm in favour of the planned economy but the pure free market and the Washington Consensus hardly showered itself in glory during the 1990s.
Tell the third world that?
Yes, in regards to the social chapter legislation, surely that would be in the socialists favour? I mean, stuff like the working week requirements.
Rail privatisation comes down to an EU directive from 1991 about seperating the ownership of track and rolling stock, but I'm sure it could just have been for just different government holding companies and the Major adminstration would have privatised it directive or no directive.
Isn't Ricky Tomlinson a reformed Capitalist?
If one is being picky I think the directive was that it should be possible to identify separately the costs of running the trains as opposed to maintaining the permanent way. That should surely be a fairly straightforward exercise and needn't involve the debacle that privitisation has become. Anyone reading this got a copy of the directive handy and they could look it up.
..........I'll get me anorak!
to paraphrase a clever chap, free markets are the worse form of economy, except all the others we have tried.

I'm sure I read somewhere that in his youth, our lovely, socialist Ricky was a BNP or National front/Hitler Youth right wing foot soldier.. times change
