Anyone had an Epidural?

My wife had one, but apparently they gave her too much and the anaesthetic starting moving upwards towards her lungs and heart. The anaesthetist had to be summoned back very quickly to provide some counter-epidural drug to save her. Suspicions about his competence should have perhaps come when he arrived, looking like the master from Dr Who, wearing a dinner jacket, complaining he'd been called away from a dinner party and wanted to get done as soon as possible so he could get back. Hope this helps

I think it might have been the lumbar puncture itself that made you scream in agony. According to Mrs Brovian (who is a Nurse) they are very VERY painful. But it hurts the patient not the medical team so that's alright.

Yes, it is very VERY painful. I didn't really care at the time if it was the lumbar puncture or the anaesthetic not working or whatever. Probably wasn't an epidural, thinking about it. :(
