I shall be attending my cricket club's annual Club Day on Sunday, which involves a token amount of cricket alongside copious amounts of alcohol and overcooked barbecue food. I don't think there will be any mention of the jubilee unless it's the name of a drinking game.
Anyone been through Newick lately? Alongside all the union flag bunting and so on, there are various slightly scary figures springing up in front gardens. Scarecrow/mannequin sort of things, one or two look like those horrible ventriloquists' dummies. I seem to recall there was a Johnny Rotten figure, a Bill & Ben the Flowerpot Men, a Noddy, and assorted other ones.
One in our street. Looking forward to it to. Those organising it have even arranged for two bands !!! Impressive considering only 20 houses in the road.
The weather looks shocking for the 4 days. Grey and cold Saturday, heavy rain sunday, rain Monday and Tuesday.
Pack away your suntan lotion, and slap on your drizzle oil and wind smear
I'm sure there will be a few in Shoreham - I will be attempting to avoid them. Bah humbug. At least it gives me a chance to do my food shopping this week - Sainsburys will be open on Mion & Tues.
