Anybody Know Of A Decent Tapas Bar In Brighton?

Casa Don Carlos. My Spanish sources say it's like home cooking but don't rate the paella, although I liked it. Good banoffi pie too, oddly.

I know someone who knows the manager of La Tasca and even he says the food there is shit. And he's right.

La Tasca is absolutely disgusting, but then it is a chain so I'm not surprised. If you like your food prepared to the corporate formula and shipped in ready for the microwave then this place is for you.

Casa Don Carlos is fantastic, and if you want Greek ( cypriot ) then the meze at Istia just off Western road is really good.

Funnily enough when La tasca opened in Canary Wharf the tapas was divine for about 2 weeks, when we enquired as to why the change we were told that for the first two weeks the chef had too cook everything himself til the "supplies" of standard food arrived.... :nono:
