I do actually help RUN a volunteer group, however its not retail... Waitrose, Sainsburys and Tesco have all rejected me for a job...

Even if you ran a volunteer group on your own, it won't register with Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Tesco's - unless it's in retail. Try as they might, they won't translate the qualities need to do what you are doing, and qualities you have shown in your studying, into seeing you as someone they might want to employ. But if, say, you've worked four hours a week as a volunteer for a charity shop for a couple of months, for example, getting till trained, arriving for work on time, handling cash etc, you would not be rejected.

Rightio. Thanks, i'll see about doing this! While constantly applying for jobs - you never know, minimum wage KFC might employ me!

What drink would you like? You going to have gravy with that? :thumbsup:

Whilst having a wank when watching porn, do you;

a) Wear headphones and risk not hearing someone coming up the stairs

b) Put the sound on low and risk one of the girls moaning louder than you expected, thus alerting everyone in the house

c) Use just one headphone but run the risk of only hearing the bloke in the movie grunting

I hope it goes well for you. If I was in your shoes, I'd apply to be a volunteer at Mind - I'd not had much personal experience of them, though. However, they seem to have a few shops around Brighton & Hove, and they are part of a bigger organisation, which can also help you gain experience in other areas of work such as campaigning, fundraising, publications, youth work etc, depending on where your interests lie. The pathway to those would be much more open than at a company like KFC!

In the meantime, yes, keep applying for work. As Colin Hawkins once said in the Argus, if you get knock-backs, it's not the knock-backs that give you who you are, but who you are in the face of the knock-backs that gives you who you are.

Should i really take career advice from a mr Hawkins? ???

And yes, i'll take alook at mind. To be fair this job isn't a career starting point. I want a new laptop and owe my mate for money he spent on me at Villa. As of now, i've not been able to afford any more aways until like, march. Orient isn't going ahead :down:

Anyway. Yes. thanks for you help!
