OK - none of us were right... here is his answer:

On the subject of the tie breaker the game chosen was that between Blackpool and QPR. The M55 goes to Blackpool with the M5 being the BMW in question, with a stutter to add the extra 5. The car from Norwich is a Lotus and if you put the 'f' in you get Loftus, i.e. Loftus Road, the home of QPR. Whilst I'm expecting lot's of complaints, at least it's the first week that nobody has got the clue, so don't expect any sympathy !!

Hopefully this weeks 'clue' will be a bit more obvious!
