I dug out a copy from the Gillingham days

It was the one with Kerry Mayo on the front cover and a big interview with him.

It is a very good fanzine.....BRING IT BACK

 (as old fat and bald). Although they badly typeset the last article I did on Bradford (Park Avenue) so that it didn't actually make any sense when you read it. Didn't write any more after that.

Printer's fault i think you will find, sir.

My advice to anyone thinking of doing a fanzine is don't.

Poor Richie, he's not cut out to be a journalist but he tries. Fanzines aren't actually that hard to put together, you could probably do one in a weekend if you worked pretty much solid, but it's all the other shit that comes with it.

Wise advice from young Ben.

It's a right royal pain in the arse.

However I think there's still a place for a fanzine where minimal effort goes into the production, ie essentially photocopied together and then where you can pay a few kids a tenner or so to sell it pre-match.

When you have to lug boxes of the bloody things everywhere, miss a good pre-match pub session and then get treated, by some, like some sort of Big Issue seller as you try and sell enough to cover your printing costs - the novelty wears off soon-ish.

How I remember fondly when I had to check 2 boxes of Scars & Stripes into the cloakroom of Illusions in Worthing on the way back from a game once.

And some turnstiles are a bugger to get through when you're accompanied by a box of 200 fanzines you were unable to sell pre-match.
