A very good film maker. I rate The English Patient in my top 20 of all time 8.9, regularly lambasted on here but a rich , thoughtful story telling and great performances especially from Juliette Binoche and Ralph Fiennes with one the greatest film scores of all time by Gabriel Yared.

Also I liked very much The Talented Mr Ripley 8.2, it is sumptuous to look at with the Italian Riviera looking stunning with beautiful people and a good story again.

He will be missed.

Shame he's gone, but at least he can ask God why he allows rapists and paedophiles to roam this world of his.
