Or spent hours typing 200 lines of text, just for the thrill of getting a small spider graphic to repeat itself in rows across the screen?

How we used to live..

My my, we are feeling nostalgic today. :D

My prep school had these...

BBCA01.JPG

Repton; Chuckie Egg; Outrun; a fantastic football manager game impossible to win anything less than 4-0; Citadel; and many more classics.

My best friend had a commodore 64 and that would involve typing in "Please load the game"; followed by a half an hour wait for it to load. MOre often than not, it crashed. You would get about 10 minutes game time in a space of 2 hours. No wonder the latter generation were not so addicted to computer games.

ALL schools had these, I think it was the law :lolol:

They always had bits of food stuck between the keys from where kids had tried to sneakily eat their lunch out of sight of the stinky IT teacher...

Match Day 2, awesome. Spent hours on that game. What brilliant memories.
I remember my ZX Spectrum +2 hade a loose power connection and i had to put books or something heavy on the lead for it to work.
Also one of my mates kept his +2 running for about 3 months because he couldnt save his progress on Soccer Boss. The thing melted in the end.:lolol:

Or trying to load a game from a cassette which after twenty minutes of loading would come up with a crash.

God that tape recorded took some bashing when that happened

Or the mighty Commodore Pet, with integral floppy drive and a massive 32 kB of RAM.

Did you know that the onboard flight computer on Apollo 11, the first craft to land man on the moon, had just 36k of memory!
