The alarm bells had been there from the start with Brighton winning the early battles in a scrappy contest dominated by man-mountain strikers Adam Virgo and Mark McCammon who looked like a pair of nightclub bouncers up front and played with a similar sort of menace.

Virgo took his doormen role too seriously as early as the second minute when he flattened Steve Caldwell with a shoulder charge which rightly earned a yellow card but Brighton prospered from their physical, high-tempo approach which prevented their opponents from settling...........'

At least we aren't getting the usual "An awfull performance by Brighton playing 10 behind the ball" type reports any more, do you think some reporters are taking us a bit more seriously now?

This is the same paper that had the blue and white stripes all over their front page a few weeks ago - the news editor Gary Welford is a Newcastle supporter, but is also football daft and the paper really scores on its sports coverage

Certainly is, the only time we've been in the bottom three this season was in August!!
