Following on from the recent Fifa thread, it has prompted me into thinking, what have been the greatest footy games of the past.
Lets exclude Championship Manager as I think we all like that.

I cant believe I remembered some of these, if there are any obvious ones I have missed feel free to take the piss.

Iam sure it will bring back some memories.

Has to be Kick Off2 for me, what a class act.

I remember Match Day seeming to be the most astonishing game in the history of the world... and now we have Pro Evo 3, which is gobsmacking by comparison.

Used to laugh at the way on Match Day all you had to do was get your striker in the right position, shoot straight up the screen and, hey presto, unsaveable top corner blaster! :lolol:

Sensible Soccer ON THE AMIGA. I was THE BEST. No comparison. Bow before me, you kick off users. You never played it, admit it. It was THE BEST. NO ARGUEMENT. AMEN.

I don't do these but I suspect my 11 year could tell you more.

However best game I ever saw was France V Portugal European Championship semi-final 1984.

Michel Plantini - possibly the greatest european player played a blinder - unbelievable.

Final score 3 - 2 to "Les Bleus"

Jem - just beat me to it. On the Amiga Sensible Soccer was the nuts. My mate bought it on the Playstation and it was proper shite and took it back within a week.

It's always been a staggering amazement to me how such a graphically simple game has never been reproduced on such a dynamic fashion on such a powerful computer such as the PC.
