Well done Aldershot. The closes I came to injury at a game was a stone thown by an Aldershot supporter.

Another semi-local club to get excited about.

They should of just created a new company and saved themselves 15 years

...or perhaps built a new stadium in a town 70 miles away, renamed the club, I don't know, the Dons perhaps, and steal someone else's League place?

I can still remember watching us beat Aldershot 3-1 at the Goldstone in the 3rd Round of the Cup (replay) in front of over 29,000. The prize was a home tie against Chelsea. Was also at the 0-0 first game in the rain (about 12,000 watched that one (travelled there on a steam train) Anyone know what year that was ?

I remember going to a match at Aldershot in the mid 70's travelling on a seagulls special train (was there 3 trains chartered for this match around Easter time?) Me and my mates were crammed in along with 3000+ other Brighton fans. I think it turned out to be a 1-1 draw and at the end of the game we invaded the pitch and some yobbos managed to snap the crossbar on one of the goals. Hence a police escort back to the train station.

The mighty Oxford United will follow next year. To their credit, Oxford fans don't have the big-club-at-this-level complex, unlike some non-Albion fans we could mention who contribute to this board.
