Leeds - but not the dirty bit
Following on from another thread re Murray, I thought it would be interesting to try and see what sort of money the club would have at their disposal (provided we are in) the championship.

Just using back of a fag packet figures.
TV share = 4.7m
15000 STH @ ave 425 = 6.375m
1901s - c. 2000 @ approx 1000 = 2m

Thats a conservative 13m already without extra live TV money, extra STH, Pay on the day tickets, food and drink sales, events (weddings etc). Sponsorship (Amex plus 3 stands plus others) etc etc etc

There is of course Stadium running costs, which I wouldn't have a clue about.

Perhaps there are others more in the know who can add other revenue streams and more accurate details, but I reckon we could be looking at about 20m income next year. That will pay a few good wages.

400 more 1901'ers to be added (East Stand) £400,000 Away fans say 1500 at £25 * 23 £862,500 that's another £1.2 million!
Another 1.5 mill when Bennett goes to Norwich in the summer.

The way he is currently performing they may look elsewhere! The refusal of his transfer request seems to have got to him, unless he is just genuinely out of form.
What is the prise money winning the league 1 title?

There is debt though. Interest free debt to Mr Bloom, which could be converted to shares at a later date.

We don't know how much (if any) the chairman will take out over the next 12 years (I seem to remember the loan is due to be paid or converted to shares by 2023). He may want his money back, he may be happy to get no money and wait for the share option, he may have a combination of the two.

I'm not saying that Bloom will take out loads of money - I think we all know he is a good guy. What I am saying, is that we do have a loan to repay and, as such, not all of the income after running costs will be guarunteed profit.

The only answer on the world wide web would suggest £25k.

That's a p1ss take. You can earn more money going up through the playoffs which seems a bit silly.

Tony may want his money back in the timeframe, but, if he is prepared to keep investing in the team with a vastly better budget from the revenue coming in and we get into the Premiership within the next five years that's £90 million guaranteed even if we get relegated first season! The TV money is vastly superior to the Championship as well!

Speculate to accumulate!!

Edit: £14.6 million in TV money in 2009/10 in the Premiership plus live tv money if selected.

TB has not lent the entire £100m though as I am sure there were all sorts of sports council grants and regeneration money too. I think it must be roughly half based on the money we could have expected to get.

In any case, to loan the club this amount of money interest free is incredible. But he is a gambler, and he is taking a highly calculated risk. If the Albion DO reach the prem which is his clear goal, he will get his money back far more quickly that 2023 as that is a different stratosphere in financial terms.
