Albion announce £3million loss for last year

It says we spent £3.9 million last year on staff wages, how does this compare to other clubs around us in league 1 and 2, it sounds a lot. How many staff (players) do we have and what is the average wage.

Are we punching above our weight or do teams like Cheltenham and Hereford operate on smaller budgets than us.

Comparing like-for-like is impossible ... unless Hereford have a Falmer project office.

"Staff costs rose by £200,000 to £3.9 million, due mainly to the setting up of a Falmer project office".

A wage bill at 95 per cent of turnover (£3.9 million / £4.1 million) is worryingly high. And a lot higher than it was a few years back.

These figures are for 2005 (when the turnover was £5,533,896):-
STAFF COSTS 2005
Wages and salaries £3,134,893
Social security costs £363,581
Other pension costs £52,316
TOTAL £3,550,790

I make that 64 per cent.
