I've just received the hosting bill for the last month, and it's our highest ever at $791, equating to around £500 at current exchange rates.
Such bills, for any period of time, are simply unsustainable for NSC at current revenue earning rates. As such I shall begin the search for (yet) another hosting solution for our community. As ever I'll be trying to get the balance right between site performance and hosting cost but we all know from experience that it's not always as easy as we'd like.
I will, of course, attempt to provide as much notice as I can of any downtimes that are likely. Such downtimes are typical when the site has to be moved between hosts.
All very annoying as it did look as though we'd found a permanent home that could cope with the peaks in our usage.
