Can't agree about Greer being the best footballer of those three.

Best leader - probably. Good captain - yes. Experience - plenty.

But for all-round approach, positional sense, passing ability and general consistency, it's El-Abd for me, certainly this season anyway.
Sorry by that I meant best with teh ball at his feet. Not the best at defending overall

Elphick is dependable and fantastic against teams that launch numerous balls high into the box. His distribution is still lower league one though. Taking it all into account I think we should keep Elphick in but drop him for El Abd at the first chance ie a defeat.

No point just pissing off TE after we have done so well in all the games he has played. As a back up CB he is superb and to lose him in the summer he would still need replacing which wouldn't be easy as whoever would come in could well be a regular on the bench

The most familiar sight this season (after Glenn's back-of-hand-on-head celebration routine) is the Gordon Greer 'Hand of Apology', held aloft time and again after another unwise over-ambitious pass goes sailing into the crowd.

'unwise over-ambitious pass ' like the one that set up Barnes' second against Carlisle? Or like the one that set Barnes away to tee up Murray in the previous home game? Adam is a terrific defender, but such balls are simply not part of his game.

Can't say a bad word about our defence, we've kept the most clean sheets in the division so clearly all 3 centre backs are of a high standard.

That is complete and utter twaddle.
Greer strokes the ball and all other centre halfs hoof it.
He has set up our forwards countless times this season with the long ball.

Beckenbaueresque indeed.
Though Franz speaks better English.
