About 50 hours so far this week. Or at least it will be by the end of today (11 hours today). Should only be about 8 hours tomorrow, hopefully be off on Saturday (depends on the weather), then 4 or 5 hours on Sunday.

Seven hours of teaching today, so not coming in again until Tuesday to recuperate

Yeah, but you've got a three month holiday coming soon ..... it's called Summer!!!

(from an ex-teacher!!!!)

I think EP is a university lecturer, so the summer holiday thing doesn't apply (at least, I assume he's research-active). To answer your question, I'm also an academic, but not a lecturer - currently a research fellow.

I gave up the rat race just over a year ago and would be exerting myself if I worked a full ten days a month. I still earn more than I did in my previous business where I worked virtually seven days a week and had constant hassle. Now I have time for the kids and have rekindled my passion for cooking proper home made food.

roll on retirement :lolol:
