I reckon it is a good appointment actually, obviously there would be better options than Keegan, but no-one really wants the job.

He is obviously not going to get Newcastle into Europe this season and I very much doubt they will get relegatewd, so he has 5 or 6 months to decide what areas need improving (which will of course be most areas)

I reckon that they will just scrape into Europe next season, even if it is via the Inter Toto
