A Company on behalf of Virgin Broadband (Don't fall for them)

Don't Mention The War
Just tried to scam me out of 199 quid. It took hold off my Computer and showed me the files on my Laptop which needed to be cleared. They said that my broadband was working slowly. Which it wasn't and they also made my Norton 360 go to amber alert, thankfully I fixed it automatically after coming off the Phone to them.

Anyone else had the same, happen to them?!

How did the company 'take hold' of your computer?

If I met you in the pub, and told you I was a plumber, and asked if you would give me the keys to your house to sort out a dripping tap - how would you respond?

This is quite a well known scam.

They talk to you on the phone and get you to load up files you have on your pc that look like they may be malware. Then they get control of your computer (can't remember how but it involves reading out an ip address I should think) - Don't trust the fuckers. Nobody legitimate will be calling you up like this.
