Cheers guys, I remember all those defeats at the end of that season and am surprised that we were still in the playoff zone as GR pointed out. Certainly not looking good this year but two wins and defeats for Cardiff and Blackpool in the next two games...... I know I'm clutching but you never know

I think we will win our home games - problem is it relies on others losing.

Tues night could define it - Birmingham is the weak link they need to take a point of us on Saturday if they don't beat Ipswich Tues.

Cardiff & Blackpool are at home with games they should get at least a point off. If results do go our way on Tues then it will be a nailbiter on the last Saturday to see if Reading do Birmingham and how much our "fiends" up the road really hate us

Mostly right. Four clubs were promoted to the top flight that season, as you say (three automatically). Although we scraped into the play-offs in the last few minutes, we finished 6th, one place above Middlesbrough who also made the play-offs. Consequently, we avoided 4th place Notts County until the final. Bloody Tommy Johnson!
