The queues are going to be massive getting into these events , photo ID checked against tickets at the perimeter , body scanners and then when you get to the entrance they confiscate your food and drink.

Not true on most counts when I went yesterday. You DONT need ID as long as have valid tickets, no big queues as many entrance gates and staff, you can take in drinks (small bottles), but yes there is a body scanner that you pass through. £2 a cup of coffee inside (so not a rip off), and loads of food/drink places so queues big but quick.
