I think you mean Kozlowski rather than Karbownik as he was already 19 when he signed for Brighton so will not be able to complete the 36 months before his 21st birthday (or the end of that season).

With Enciso and Kozlowski both have a chance of becoming HGP depending on what date the FA consider to be the end of the season.

Kozlowski should count as an HGP as he will turn 21 in October 2024 and by the end of that season (June or July 2025) will have been with us for 42 or 43 months.

Enciso is a bit difficult to work out as he joined us during the close season, so does he count as being signed last season or this season. He will turn 21 in January 2025, his 36 months will be completed in the summer of 2025, it just depends on which side of the end of the 2024-25 season they decide that falls.

Thanks! Yes I did indeed mean Kozlowski.

Managing to sneak in an extra couple of HGPs this way can only help our numbers.

Assuming Cucu is gone, then it's just Scherpen (or McGill), Duffy, Andone and maybe Kozlowski to go and the squad will be well within the required limits. Lots of youngsters needing loans though - Tsoungui,Turns, Furlong, Offiah, Tolaj, Perpion(sp?), Miler, Spong.............

Mention of Kozlowski going on loan has gone very quiet since the Grillitsch deal didn't happen.

I think McGill, Enciso and Ferguson will be staying. Probably van Hecke as well.

Maupay

Now are Maupay rumours BS
Or because we can’t shift Andone the club are thinking that
On his last year NM has transfer value currently
Shift him out for £ and free up wages
Andone takes his space in the 25 as we can’t get rid anyway ?
Might be pie in sky But odder things have come to pass
Clarke I think will depart
But I think Duffy stays and see s out his contract as clubs ain’t gonna pay his current wage
Only way out for him I think is if Albion pay a chunk of his wages

Much rather keep Clarke and give him a chance in the squad, he's a genuine lefty, and move on Duffy. An excellent player for us, but really mainly in the Hughton era. Probably a loan is the only option though, with us paying some of his wages.

So be it.

No point in a loan for Duffy. He is much better to have as a back up then to send off elsewhere whilst we still pay most of his wages. Ideally we would sell for a few £m but nobody seems to be interested in such players. Similarly Andone may be staying here for the season allowing Ferguson to have a loan or Maupay to be sold

Naylor hinting at a move out for Duffy in his Athletic piece and Football Insider reporting he’s in advanced talks with Fulham.

Having looked at the transfer activity in the Championship, no team would pay us to take him (that goes for Clarke and JPvH on permanents too).

If we have found a way to generate some income selling a player Potter would prefer not to use to Fulham, the club would have done brilliantly. We are now in a position not to worry too much about strengthening relegation favourites.

Apparantly there is a point - loan out rather than block someone else.

The numbers :

[Tweet]1555901513070952448[/Tweet]

Andone looks out on a limb there - not even given the #30. At least he didn't get #40, I suppose. I suspect his time here will end with a contract pay-up deal at the end of August and he becomes a free agent.

Spaces at #3 - left back, #12 - midfielder, and #24.

Clarke getting a shirt ? Genuinely thought he was going AGAIN

Getting a shirt number doesn’t mean they’re staying. Andone had one last year and was on the bench for Burnley (A). He was then loaned a few weeks later.
The 25 submitted to the PL itself - a few days after the window closes on sept 1st - is the one to look for.
Most reports suggest Clarke / Scherpen are going to be loaned imminently and Andone isn’t in potter’s plans.

I think they had to give everyone still at the club a shirt. I imagine up to half a dozen will be gone by September including Andone and Maupay.

Don't think they "had" to do anything but it would just be cruel and pointless to freeze them out like that publically when they're still around.

Indeed.

Clarke, Scherpen and Andone are almost certainly going somewhere.

Then there has to be a chance - although equally not - of loans for 27-29 : Kozlowski, Ferguson, van Hecke.

And then there is the Maupay question - the Italian deal may not be happening but it seems a move is not totally out of the question.
