At least 22 fans have died in a stampede caused by a collapsing wall before the WC Qualifier between Ivory Coast and Malawi. The match still went ahead, and Didier Drogba starred in a 5-0 win. Reminiscent of Heysel on both counts.

Spot on Notts - the Heysel game was also a World Cup qualifier, the result also 5-0 (I even think a young Didier Drogba was on the bench for Liverpool if memory serves).
