I struggle to see why they bother with it anymore. Unless it breaks even or makes a profit I can't see the value. Feels like a bizarre legacy of when a fifth of the world map was coloured in pink. And, anyway, Australia wins the most Golds and we can't have that.

Surely this is an excellent reason to keep them going. We can cancel the games once we finally beat the buggers so that we have eternal bragging rights.

I would hope Bowls would be one of the 10 sports, apparently the global, ie commonwealth, TV viewing figures are good for the Bowls, might have something to do with the demographic?
