i'm struggling to deal with the logistics of an ant sized bear and a bear sized ant in my mind

there's only so many hypothetical situations my mind can deal with

I don't understand what that has to do with a Hardest Animal contest.

The competition 'rules' state that size shouldn't be taken into account or summat like that. So if they were all the same size then the ant is by far the hardest.

the fact of the matter is that ants are ONLY hard if they're in massive colonies

in a million-on-one contest you'd fancy them against anything.......but one on one? not sure

An ant the size of a bear would cause havock and wouldn't need his comrades to back him up.

if you somehow made a massive ant, it wouldn't have the same strength-size ratio as it has now.....it'd be FAR smaller

I think this is all largely irrelevant as unfortunately the hardest animal from this group won't be going through.

Will the competitors from this group be facing those from H?

A giant ant wouldn't be hard because it wouldn't be able to support it's own weight. It would just lie there, dying, wondering how it ever came to exist in the first place.
