There's just something about Essex at the moment... Bloody bogey team or what... Still a bloody good night out though.

Well it was an enjoyable evening out despite the result.
Sussex started well but then really slowed down and threw away some wickets with woeful shots. Essex were always up on the pace and seemed be very few dot balls. Top marks to Prior for sharing a bit of banter with the crowd although could've done with him wearing the gloves considering the amount that seemed to go straight through Hodd

Bopara's hitting was excellent last night, shame he didn't make his ton because he fully deserved it.

Prior seemed to want to get out after hitting a few boundaries, the rest of the batting was pretty poor to be honest.
