    Ideas for Country Walks

Well I know the weather hasn't completely improved, but it is starting to resemble something half decent. After wasting most of my weekends in winter, I want to get out during this one. Does anyone recommend any good, relatively short(as I think I'll be doing it solo) country walks around the...

East and West Coastway Southern trains from Brighton

It all depends how well they are "refreshed". They currently look vile.. The old metro ones that SWT use have been refreshed alright, but the FCC one's (which are ironically newer) don't seem to have gained anything from it.

How to get to Dungeness by public transport

Yes I had thought about taking in the railway too. Good, I didn't want it to be all day, I want to be back in London in good time for drinks in the evening. Cheers for that!

How to get to Dungeness by public transport

Just thinking of making the most of my day off tomorrow and heading down to Dungeness, I've heard so much about how interesting it is to go there and see the mixture of wildlife, shingle, old cottages and then a great big power station! What's the best way to get there via public transport, if...

    Brighton Bears/Tigers/B52s

Didn't they beat a touring Soviet side once which was a rare feat? I thought the chronology was SS was demolished, they thought Kingwest would be able to host an ice rink/ice hockey but it couldn't. Council has then said it will build a new ice rink and we are still waiting.

Daily Mail backs Michael McIntyre - hurrah!

if they want to give a shameless plug to a Comedian they don't think offends anyone in an edgy way, why not Harry Hill?

    Boris the legend continues.

I know! Should be open May 2010 by all accounts. Still aren't happy in my new part of the woods(Loughborough Junction/Denmark Hill) because of the plans to remove the SLL service. Putting off Vic Tube Station upgrade till past 2018 also seems pretty damned stupid IMO.

    Boris the legend continues.

It wasn't the cockneys that voted for him. It was Bexley and Bromley, whose turnout in May 08 was at 60%(!!!) and 100k of them voted for Boris.

    Bendy bus to Falmer?

I can't wait for the fun that putting off any upgrade of Victoria Underground Station until 2018 will bring, or the fun of getting a 512 which held 90 people and now only holds 30. But it's ok, because he's SAVED the money he cut there to provide us with air conditioned tubes... Which have...

    Bendy bus to Falmer?

But he does like putting up Tube fares by 12% despite inflation being 1%, and having promised "More bang for your buck" when he got elected. His removal of the Bendy's in London is insanity, seeing a route that was previously served by a bus that could hold near on 100 down to 30, well, says it...

It's all over for Labour & Mr Brown

In regards to transport, ELL extensions and Crossrail would have happened far earlier had the Tories not mothballed them twice... I do fear for Crossrail mind you under the Tories, despite Boris's commitment to it.

It's all over for Labour & Mr Brown

True. The Sun "Lost it" once, as I seem to recall they obiedently backed Blair's choice for Mayor, Dobbo, and we know what happened there. Exactly, one of John Major's main bonuses was the fact nobody really knew who he was. I know he had been chancellor for the last year(89-90) but compared to...

Which is the worst price comparison website advert?

I walked past Trafalgar Square the day they were filming it and the whole thing SICKENED me. The fact so many gormless morons were wasting their time singing along to crap pop songs in the vain hope of being on TV and the fact it was having to be policed. I bet the same sad people there claim...
