So assuming this thread is about the price of tickets for better seats @ £42, Ipswich Town have just turned a £5 mill profit and they have a similar seat pricing policy (£43), so what are they doing that we aren't?

That old chestnut, and when 92 league clubs have differing ideas and the Prem clubs tell us to do one but we stick rigidly to a cap, as we try to FFP, we'll spiral down the leagues and become what seems to be our lasting legacy, scrapping it out in the bottom two leagues. I like your plan.
I re-iterate that I didn't say it would 'bankrupt' us to lower the prices, I was just stating that if people don't want to commit to season tickets for varying reasons, then don't expect to find a 'bargain bucket' price. Personally the £42 ticket I would market at £39, which is more appealing...

Regarding 'slam doors', they were still in use on the western line (GWR?) up to 4 years ago, and may still be, as I used to take one regularly from Paddington to Slough on the way to Windsor.
