    Poyet NOT to Reading thread

Can i be the first to start a completely and utterly 100% made up rumour: Gus has fallen out with Barber over his REDUCED budget! Barber out... Gus in.

    Poyet NOT to Reading thread

I thought the club were always happy to allow other clubs to speak to employees if approached? they can't really stop this anyway, so i guess it's easier to say 'yeah, feel free to speak to them' which is what happened with CMS, when he almost left. so friggin what if reading have been given...

Paul Barber's programme article about standing

Dunno? Do you know something about this... do tell. If the club have to make certain noises and do certain things in order to get the certificate, whilst accepting that as soon as the certificate is granted they can relax a bit and stop trying to enforce sitting in the North, well then that...

Paul Barber's programme article about standing

There's some seriously ignorant people on this thread. EVERY large ground in the UK has a big section where standing is allowed... even encouraged at some grounds. Plus the away end is almost always a standing area. That's just the way it is. Nobody gets a fine, or a reduced allocation. And...

    Ulloa or Murray

Ulloa. He's way better. Another top flight player at the club. My only concern, is that if we don't go up this season we'll start to see these players moving on.

What was your personal highlight from sunday?

Calde's joyous fist pumping. That player dribbling the ball straight into touch. Ulloa's thumping third. The packed West Upper concourse after the game.

Safe Standing at the AMEX: Yes or No?

Your lack of knowledge on this subject is truly frightening. You are aware what actually happened at Hillsborough aren't you?

Safe Standing at the AMEX: Yes or No?

Erm... they've had both traditional and the modern 'safe standing' terracing for years in Germany, in fact it never went away. So not sure how anybody could possibly link any recent rise in arrests (that i don't believe has taken place anyway, but we'll have to agreed to disagree on that) with...

North stand standing what a joke

Does anybody know if Hebbard is an employee or a consultant? If he's a consultant, does it not seem a bit odd that the person who's instigating the current disputes via the instructions issued to stewards, and by the sheer number of stewards stationed in the North to intimidate people... is...

Safe Standing at the AMEX: Yes or No?

Why not? The chief execs at Aston Villa, and countless championship clubs are publicly backing the introduction of Safe Standing areas. Check out the Safe Standing campaign site, you might be surprised.

North stand standing what a joke

Do you know if the Football Supporters Federation, or anybody else, is formulating some sort of campaign on this. I know they're involved in the Safe Standing thing, but for me the Safe Standing campaign sort of plays into the hands of people who think everybody should always stay seated i.e. it...

North stand standing what a joke

I honestly can't believe that an Albion fan, a proper fan, would be anything other than supportive towards the standers. You do understand what the consequences of an all sitting North would be don't you? Firstly, the people who want to stand will simply stop coming, and start attending away...

Scout / School groups at game yesterday..

I think they were from Middle Street School (is that correct)?. That school at the top of Middle Street, or is it Ship Street, in the centre of town.

North stand standing what a joke

What stand were you working in last season and what sort of instructions were you given regarding people standing?

North stand standing what a joke

A dry run for what? The away fans will be left to enjoy their afternoon whilst the home fans creating the atmosphere will be harrassed and bullied into shutting up and not backing the team. Actually, this approach is being followed for the policing on the day, with away fans being given pubs...

North stand standing what a joke

Erm... but it is allowed. Have the club fitted extra safety features to the back 4 rows... where the club have publicly said they're happy for people to stand? No, of course not. And will Palace fans be allowed, all of them, in two weeks? Yes they will. Perhaps somebody could post some images...

    The Albion's progress

Look at all those people standing! Better send in the stewards asap before a riot breaks out or something

Amex to host Rugby World Cup Games? (merged threads)

This will be great! Massive big screen fan park thing on the seafront with bars and stuff... 3 boozy old match-days at the ground... this is going to be a right old boozathon! I think we'll get a France match as well, and possibly an Italy match too.

North stand standing what a joke

Why are the club attempting to ruin the atmosphere at the Amex? In Gus' programme notes yesterday he spoke about the importance of the fans backing the team. Yet the club (whoever at the club is in charge of such things... is it still Richard Hebbard?) seem weirdly fixated on what they perceive...
