Course it was, who could fail to know that?? :) So why do Stockport have a County suffix?

Surely Whitehawk and Palmeria Square still exist! But seriously, I'm surprised the old clock is still going; haven't seen the thing since 1979! It'd be great to have more 60 and 50-years-ago threads about the Albion, although there probably wasn't much memorable until 1958.

Being called a county town doesn't mean you're not a city (e.g. Chichester). I always wondered why Bury Town weren't Bury City.

Sheffield FC play in Dronfield, which is actually nearer to Chesterfield. Why did you specify Truro FC when it is clearly Truro City? http://www.thisiscornwall.co.uk/Truro-FC-nearly-pound-4m-debt-says-report/story-17245246-detail/story.html#axzz2VBwyQ1Ev

A bit like that giant panda which eats shoots and leaves. I think you did that deliberately, knowing I am in no position to criticise American spelling!

If I logged every grammatical error on NSC as ammunition just on the off-chance that the author subsequently made a smart Alec comment against me, I'd 1) be extremely sad, and 2) have a database requiring a bigger hard drive to house it. What I don't understand is that you've used would've...

Now look here Mr Underscore, I only devised this to help Oscar and others who don't seem to be picking this up the way Somerset suggests. If you can say my god, I can prefix it with oh, OK?

OMG I've just checked and discovered I've been using the American spelling all my life! The shame.....

Memorise this, taking note of the emboldened letters: Charles is the heir and William is in line; it'll be their throne one day. This is neither here nor there to Irish republicans, who might say "They're just commoners, so they are." This is my own compilation; can anybody improve on it?

My old plastic grater no longer works because the sharp plasticky protusions are no longer sharp (does this mean I have been eating tiny shavings of plastic over the years?) I need a cheap grater that won't grate my knuckles when I get to the end of a lump of cheese.

And they call us deluded....plans to redevelop Selhurst

l'epic, surely. Thought I was the only person that this applied to! I always thought though, that a Sunday paper which gave all the away followings in brackets after the 'gate' might noticeably improve circulation figures.

If you edit a post quickly enough, it doesn't show up with the 'reason for editing' suffix. Can't we just restore half of it? Can't see the point in being notified about your own actions! I reckon Bozza has more style than to do that; he'd have chosen the magnificent Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Bets on: who will be the first Palace fan to get banned from NSC today?

There's a dreaming spire in Chesterfield (the locals dream the thing will stay up for ever).
