I thought it might happen but that the odds were against it, although it was a bit of a shock (in the dramatic sense) . You basically need to either find out what 'out of the blue' means or refer to some of those posts speculating about the event in the weeks that led up to it.
Well I joined them after the Cardiff result, and I thought the chances of it happening were maybe one in three. So I was wrong, but the news certainly wasn't 'out of the blue' , which means there was no indication that such an event might happen.
